Jessica Zafra's blog is holding a contest of sorts in support of the Philippine Animal Welfare Society (PAWS)-Purina "Homeless, Not Worthless" campaign on adoption of stray animals. I only learned of this recently so I hope my entry makes it. Anyway, around this time 7 years ago was the time Figaro first came to our lives. And for that, prizes or none, I've posted a little something (see previous post below) as a tribute.
If you haven't seen the PAWS TVCs, click here (for the dog "Bantay" version) and here ("Siyam", the cat version). I'd nominate it for a Best Casting (and acting) award if I could - it was like the Slumdog Millionaire child cast, only with animals. Seriously, huge props to the director and the rest of the production team for capturing these real-life heart-tugging scenes. Apart from Bantay and Muning's cuteness, I do hope the campaign gets people to be more sensitive to our street animals and consider giving them a home. Speaking from experience, with at least one proper bath and a balanced diet, they will equal, if not surpass the cuteness of their pedigreed peers.
I’m curious though, were those animals trained actors or did the production team really roamed the streets and waited til they caught these footage?
